BLVD BELTLINE APARTMENTS PUBLIC ART COMMISSION

Commissioned by ONE Properties - expected completion date is July 2024

ONE Properties, Ellen Cunningham Art Consulting, and CMCK Public Art are pleased to share that Robin Arseneault was awarded the public art commission at BLVD Beltline Apartments, Calgary. The art work, entitled Balancing Act, will playfully explore ideas of imagined spectacle and the desired state of “balance,” set within the context of the Beltline neighbourhood’s history and the site’s proximity to the nearby Stampede Park and developing East Victoria Park.

Arseneault is a Calgary-based artist whose mediums include sculpture, drawing, collage, and photography-based work. Arseneault holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Alberta University of the Arts and a Master of Fine Arts from Edinburgh College of Art. Arsenault is a recipient of the Lieutenant Governor of Alberta Emerging Artist Award and has been awarded grants from Canada Council for the Arts and the Alberta Foundation for the Arts. She has exhibited her work across Canada and internationally, with her recent sculpture, Falling Off the Log, 2022, exhibited at Esker Foundation in Calgary. The commission at BLVD Beltline marks Arseneault’s first major public art sculpture.

This public art commission is managed by Ellen Cunningham Art Consulting and CMCK Public Art.
